M1216 - Review

M1216 is a very interesting concept. It is best described as burst shotgun. If fires in bursts of 4 shells and after each burst you need to cock it. The magazine holds 16 shells, so 4 bursts of four shells. The gun is actually pleasing to the eyes, very techno looking. Sound of the gun is also very nice. Iron sights are not the best, but the work just fine for the ranges this gun is suitable for. Gun is quite slim, not blocking much view, however any added scope can make it bulky. Muzzle flash is not affecting the aiming.


Most of the times when I fire this gun, I fire all 4 bursts. That is actually the reason I'm not bad with this gun. IT takes about 4 shots to kill a guy most of the time, so that burst is just fine. The really sad part is that I need 4 shells to do the job that can be done with just 1 when using the R870. This gun is weak. If not for those bursts, this weapon would be a hitmarker minigun. The range this gun is useful on is very short, actually I play with this gun the same way I 'd play if I were using only a knife. Reload time is not really bothering me. Reload animation is fine and interesting.


When I actually bother with this gun. I use long barrel and laser sights. The standard. The sights for the better hip fire pellet spread and long barrel to improve the range. Not that the range get some exception improvement, but still 1 meter is 1 meter. Like mentioned before the scopes just feel to bulky to me. One option to use this weapon would be in a stealth mode with ghost and suppressor on. Range is so pathetic that it doesn't even matter if you reduce it even more. The normal perks I use with this weapon are Lightweight, Toughness and Dexterity.

M1216 - Final thoughts

I'd have no problem with this weapon if it were a secondary one. It is actually fine when I'm clearing the cabins on Hijacked. The problem is getting to those cabins. I'm sure there are people that find this weapon just fine. I feel like throwing it would be more effective. Getting to the 250 one hit kills to unlock some of the camos is borderline masochistic.
