Chicom CQB - Review
This gun is very unique for a submachine gun, since it's a burst fire weapon. I generally use weapons as they are and I don't put fire selectors on them unless they show massive improvement. This gun doesn't gain anything with fire selector. Rate of fire drops to 900, which is the same as MP7 and Vector have. You lose one attachment spot to get a gun that has the same fire rate than those two. I also feel that this gun loses all the characteristics that I like when firing full auto.
I really like how this gun looks. The gun is supposed o be from China. It doesn't look Chinese one bit. Its bullpup design and green magazine put it more into western space toy category. I just love it. While this gun looks great, it just isn't so functional. It feels a bit bulkier because of its handle on top. In addition to that, the iron sights on the handle just don't work for me. They look logical and aiming with them is quite intuitively, the problem is that they block a lot. It is impossible to see the lower part and that isn't good when gun jumps. I've seen a lot of people use the iron sights on this gun with some success, but I was never able to get comfortable with them. Muzzle flash is not disturbing the aiming.
As for performance, this gun is a laser. It is very good on medium or even long distances. Gun fires in bursts of 3 and there is very little spread between the three bullets. If you keep bursting the gun, the recoil will move it mostly upwards. For the longer distances I take some time between bursts. I use red dot sights on this gun, but I guess MMS and holographic sights could work fine also. I even tried it with target finder and I was not bad with it. Red dot sights also replace the bulky handle on top of the gun, so the gun looks smaller. In theory this gun is a 2 burst kill anywhere on map. However in reality, in a laggy environment that most of us play in, this translates to about 3 or 4 bursts needed to down a guy. Total clip is 36 and that means 12 bursts in total. This weapon for me is normally a 3 kill weapon before reload. Reload time feels OK, I haven't really felt the need for a fast mag. Reload animation with it's green mag looks fantastic.
Good attachments for this gun are red dot and laser sight. Fore grip is not needed, I didn't really see any improvement from rapid fire also. I usually don't play with suppressor because I like my gunshots loud. This is a game after all and hearing gunshots makes the whole experience better for me. When I do want to go silent, this is the submachine gun I use. Combination of red dot and suppressor is really good. This gun is always a 2 burst kill, so it doesn't really lose anything with suppressor on. It's not so strong on short distances, so staying off the radar helps. The perks I use for my silent class are Ghost, Cold blooded and Tactical mask. I usually add Perk 1 greed and Flak jacket. I really hate those betties, so Flak jacket is almost a must for me. I could use Dead silence instead of Tactical mask, I just don't think that many people rely on sounds. A lot of people use shock charges though.
Chicom CQB - Final thoughts
Overall a really good weapon and my go to silenced submachine gun. It's a solid SMG to use on medium/longer distances, because it is a very accurate gun with very little recoil. You will be outgunned at short ranges most of the time and that is why I prefer this gun suppressed. It is a very good looking bullpup design. One of the design flaws is a bulky handle on top of it, so using some other sights is almost a must.
